Executive Director

Matt Vogel
Matt Vogel joined UVM Hillel as the executive director in August 2013.  Before moving to Vermont he was the director of the Hillel at Baruch College and developed a vision for Jewish peoplehood with his partners in the Hillels of Kiev, Ukraine and Herzliya IDC in Israel. Matt was awarded the Richard M. Joel Exemplar of Excellence Award for "amplifying the global spirit at Baruch College and around the world."
Matt graduated from Michigan State University Honors College with a BA in Business Management and became a Jewish Campus Service Corps Fellow at the University of Colorado-Boulder. He then worked and played as a preschool teacher and administrator with the Boulder JCC Preschool while later moving to New York to pursue an MPA in Nonprofit Management at New York University. In New York he led the Collegiate Leadership Internship Program (CLIP) for Hillel and helped inspire many participants to pursue careers in the nonprofit sector.
He has volunteered for board leadership with Hillel International, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, and a local community preschool. With Hillel, he is a member of the national Director's Cabinet, on the SafetyEquityRespect task force, advises the Weinberg ACCELERATE Executive Leadership program, and coaches new directors through their first year. When not at work he can be found in his gardens tending to Gilfeather turnips (the Vermont state vegetable), countless hot peppers, and 50 some chickens.

iACT Israel Engagement Associate

Sarah Granof

My name is Sarah, and I'm the IACT Israel Engagement Associate.  I'm so excited to be supporting UVM students while exploring beautiful Burlington.  Raised in the Midwest, it's wonderful to once again be living in a cold, snowy environment, surrounded by kindness, social activism, and farm-fresh food.  After working in Israeli politics, it's immensely satisfying to now help others discover their own connections and relationships to both Israel and activism

I love coffee and conversations, so please feel free to reach out!
